The Winter of our Discontent
This winter of 2014 continues to be a pain in the A--! Just received power in my house-I hope you all get back your power as soon as possible. Walking around can be so dangerous! I implore all of you to watch your step, walk carefully, even get out of your cars slowly. (One of our patients stepped out of his car, slipped, and tore his ACL from twisting the knee so badly) Be Careful!
Every step needs to be done with caution. Of course, if you twist or strain anything please give us a call so we can check it out. If it is an injury that I think needs an orthopedic opinion, I will give you names of great doctors in the area.
Safety is so important. Please drive carefully and slowly (I keep on telling my son to keep good distance between cars).
It really is very dangerous and I want everyone to stay healthy.
We will talk to you soon!
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff

Chiropractic: A Wellness Model
After being blessed to be able to practice chiropractic for the last 28 years, I've seen it all!!!
Fortunately, 99.9999% of pain and spinal problems is not caused by pathology or something out of the ordinary. Fortunately, it almost all the time is caused by "activities of daily living"- meaning bending, lifting, coughing, fooling around, picking up the kids, baking , vacuuming, etc, etc. Because of the fact, chiropractic continues to be an amazing help for human beings. These activities of daily living may not manifest its symptoms all the time- there can be underlying irritations that are under the surface. Because of this; chiropractic wellness care/maintenance care/preventative care is as beneficial as chiropractic acute care.
Therefore I implore you all to not just wait until you are in the grips of death pain, for there are so many more benefits of chiropractic then just that.
Start the year off right and get your spine checked: trust me, you'll be glad that you did.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff

A JOYOUS NEW YEAR TO ALL
It seems unbelievable to me that 2014 signifies my 24th year serving Chester County with terrific and lovable chiropractic. It has really been a blessing taking care of everyone and I feel honored to continue to do so.
Please make sure your New Years is safe and don't do any silly things.
As the year begins lets just go through a handful of health tips to make sure we all start off on the right foot:
1- Get adjusted, get your chiropractic care; weather its for acute, chronic, or "keep up the wellness" care
2- If you have never been to a dermatologist it is time to go to check the largest organ of the human body: The Skin
3- Ladies: if it is mammogram time please take care of it
4- I have met too many patients who have never had a colonoscopy; if that is you, I will give you a phone number of a good, trusted Doctor. If it has been long enough for a second one to be done, take care of that
5- Men: get that prostate checked; including blood work for the PSA
Health is not merely the absence of symptoms, it is a combination of many things including function/exercise/healthy blood work/good mental outlook/proper nutrition/ and lots of love making!
God bless us all...
Happy New Year!
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff
PS- 2014 will be a big year for Resnick Chiropractic- Be sure to keep up with our office blog, our Facebook Page Updates, and many other exciting things going on at the office.

A FEW HOLIDAY TIPS FROM DR. RAY
Tis the season to be jolly- Actually every season we should be jolly. Any who, some pointers:
1- If your going to make a couple of thousand Christmas cookies, please take extra breaks for your lower back. Standing stooped over the kitchen counter for hours is tough on the spine. Believe me! By the way, if you are going to make a couple of thousand Christmas cookies, why don't you bring me some at the office! (haha..)
2- Please please do not do gift wrapping on the floor- it is terrible for your spine and tough on your tush. Better to sit at table on a comfortable chair, have some egg nog or some Manishevitz and wrap away.
3- Since Hanukkah was so early this year, I don't need to give you Latka oil burning prevention hints- lucky you. The last time Hanukkah was so early, Moses was schlepping through the parted waters with the troops.
So anyway, have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends and of course if you tweak anything give me a call- I'll be around.
God bless, happy new year.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff

SNOW ALERT, SNOW ALERT
I hope you all are safe and sound while getting safely through our first snowfall of the winter of 2013. Please drive extra careful, watch your distance between cars (I tell my kids that all the time), make sure you have a good snow scraper and brush in your car, and if you have to do any shoveling you still want to bend your knees properly and listen to your body for stop time.
Please keep in mind the pre-holiday stressors can certainly effect the function of your body. Don't hesitate to give the office a call for a great Dr. Ray adjustment.
Look out for our Holiday blog entry coming in 2 weeks!!!
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff
PS- Great time of year to buy your loved ones an hour massage. Call or stop in the office to get a gift certificate!

FLASH: Mandatory Thanksgiving Pre-caution
Firstly, thank ya'll for giving me the pleasure and privilege of taking care of you Chester Countyans, MANY THANKS!
Most importantly though, some Thanksgiving health tips to keep your body in line over the holiday-
1. Bend your knees and keep your back straight when handling turkey. If turkey is stuffed, do it in tandem with someone else as it will weigh more.
2. If turkey is still frozen you might need to wear a lumbar brace to transport from supermarket to home.
3. When doing the dishes, take breaks since extended dish washing posture can create low back issues.
4. If you engage in family touch football games in the backyard, don't kill each other.
Just some tidbits from Dr. Ray to make sure that your turkey doesn't bite you in the butt, but if it does…
Resnick Chiropractic will be here for you.
Thanks again for all your love.

A Quick Hey, From Doctor Ray...
Whatever prescribed medication that you are taking, its very important you take it correctly as indicated on bottles or packages. If you are taking any pain or anti-inflamitory medication, please take with food. If you are eating different vitamins and minerals, try not to take all of them at one time. It is best to spread it out during the course of the day, that way it will be absorbed more effeciently. If you are taking medication for cholesterol, get your blood checked once a year. If you are taking an anti-depresant, take it the same time each day to get better use from it.
As a chiropractor we try to say no to drugs, but certainly there is a time and place for everything.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff
