A JOYOUS NEW YEAR TO ALL

It seems unbelievable to me that 2014 signifies my 24th year serving Chester County with terrific and lovable chiropractic. It has really been a blessing taking care of everyone and I feel honored to continue to do so.

Please make sure your New Years is safe and don't do any silly things.

As the year begins lets just go through a handful of health tips to make sure we all start off on the right foot:
1- Get adjusted, get your chiropractic care; weather its for acute, chronic, or "keep up the wellness" care
2- If you have never been to a dermatologist it is time to go to check the largest organ of the human body: The Skin
3- Ladies: if it is mammogram time please take care of it
4- I have met too many patients who have never had a colonoscopy; if that is you, I will give you a phone number of a good, trusted Doctor. If it has been long enough for a second one to be done, take care of that
5- Men: get that prostate checked; including blood work for the PSA

Health is not merely the absence of symptoms, it is a combination of many things including function/exercise/healthy blood work/good mental outlook/proper nutrition/ and lots of love making!

God bless us all...

Happy New Year!

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

PS- 2014 will be a big year for Resnick Chiropractic- Be sure to keep up with our office blog, our Facebook Page Updates, and many other exciting things going on at the office.

A FEW HOLIDAY TIPS FROM DR. RAY

Tis the season to be jolly- Actually every season we should be jolly. Any who, some pointers:
1- If your going to make a couple of thousand Christmas cookies, please take extra breaks for your lower back. Standing stooped over the kitchen counter for hours is tough on the spine. Believe me! By the way, if you are going to make a couple of thousand Christmas cookies, why don't you bring me some at the office! (haha..)
2- Please please do not do gift wrapping on the floor- it is terrible for your spine and tough on your tush. Better to sit at table on a comfortable chair, have some egg nog or some Manishevitz and wrap away.
3- Since Hanukkah was so early this year, I don't need to give you Latka oil burning prevention hints- lucky you. The last time Hanukkah was so early, Moses was schlepping through the parted waters with the troops.

So anyway, have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends and of course if you tweak anything give me a call- I'll be around.

God bless, happy new year.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

SNOW ALERT, SNOW ALERT

I hope you all are safe and sound while getting safely through our first snowfall of the winter of 2013. Please drive extra careful, watch your distance between cars (I tell my kids that all the time), make sure you have a good snow scraper and brush in your car, and if you have to do any shoveling you still want to bend your knees properly and listen to your body for stop time.

Please keep in mind the pre-holiday stressors can certainly effect the function of your body. Don't hesitate to give the office a call for a great Dr. Ray adjustment.

Look out for our Holiday blog entry coming in 2 weeks!!!

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

PS- Great time of year to buy your loved ones an hour massage. Call or stop in the office to get a gift certificate!

FLASH: Mandatory Thanksgiving Pre-caution

Firstly, thank ya'll for giving me the pleasure and privilege of taking care of you Chester Countyans, MANY THANKS!
Most importantly though, some Thanksgiving health tips to keep your body in line over the holiday-
1. Bend your knees and keep your back straight when handling turkey. If turkey is stuffed, do it in tandem with someone else as it will weigh more.
2. If turkey is still frozen you might need to wear a lumbar brace to transport from supermarket to home.
3. When doing the dishes, take breaks since extended dish washing posture can create low back issues.
4. If you engage in family touch football games in the backyard, don't kill each other.

Just some tidbits from Dr. Ray to make sure that your turkey doesn't bite you in the butt, but if it does…
Resnick Chiropractic will be here for you.

Thanks again for all your love.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

A Quick Hey, From Doctor Ray...

I was just thinking of this and I wanted to remind ya'll:
Whatever prescribed medication that you are taking, its very important you take it correctly as indicated on bottles or packages. If you are taking any pain or anti-inflamitory medication, please take with food. If you are eating different vitamins and minerals, try not to take all of them at one time. It is best to spread it out during the course of the day, that way it will be absorbed more effeciently. If you are taking medication for cholesterol, get your blood checked once a year. If you are taking an anti-depresant, take it the same time each day to get better use from it.
As a chiropractor we try to say no to drugs, but certainly there is a time and place for everything.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

Shut Down Mania

Unfortunately the dysfunction of our officials in office has shut down our Government and really nobody knows the extent that it affects our daily lives.
Similarly, our bodies can be functioning at a certain level that we feel is OK, but in reality there may be certain nerves or muscles that are shut down to some degree. Our bodies can still function to a decent measure even though many systems may not be working optimally.
Getting adjusted, finding the areas of dysfunction, opening up nerve pathways, and helping muscles work properly are all byproducts of CHIROPRACTIC! So please give the office a call so we can talk about this one on one and make sure you understand all the wonderful benefits that getting adjusted avails.

...AND LET'S HOPE OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS GET THERE ACT TOGETHER AS WELL.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

Helping Others Help Themselves

For all of you who have benefited from chiropractic I am not sure you are aware, but you have a responsibility. The responsibility you have is to keep an eye open and an ear to those around you whether it be family, friends, co-workers, or strangers in life. It is a crime how many people live with there ailments or just assume that "I have had  it so long, nothing can be done for it," or "it is normal to have so I will just take a medication for the pain." Fortunately, most of our neuro-muscular skeletal aches and pains happen because of the repetition of our daily lives and the mechanical dysfunction that occurs because of that repetition. Chiropractic is incredible for a major percentage of these problems.

So again, if you observe a fellow human being complaining about these problems you must say to them- TRY CHIROPRACTIC. If they say no, you must say- YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF. Most of these people end up benefiting beyond there expectations.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and staff

Where does the time go?

Hope ya'll had a safe and fun filled Labor Day. Time surely passes quickly- it's so easy to neglect ourselves as we deal with taking care of everybody and everything else.

Lets start out this September by thinking about yourself a little bit more. One of the biggest ways is GET ADJUSTED. The neurological, mechanical, muscular, and functional benefits of a chiropractic adjustment are numerous. Please do not just come in when you are in massive immovable pain. There is so much more to offer your body from a regular or maintenance adjustment.

Unfortunately it is true that over the almost 24 years of practicing chiropractic in Exton, PA; many people come in purely when they have symptoms. BELIEVE ME: the multiple benefits to your nerves, disks, joints, circulation, posture, and overall function could use a good "chiro fix" anytime.

So we hope you enjoyed the holiday with your family and friends, stay safe, and stop on in the office.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

Good Doctoring Includes The Whole Body

I'm looking at the calender. I know it says 8/4, but my mind can't believe it. The summer is cruising and therefore easy for us to neglect things that should be taken care of. When I meet new people, it is my responsibility to not only be a good chiropractor but to make sure they are following up on other important needs for there body to work properly. So as the summer speeds along, please remember to get your mammogram done, get your colonoscopy, get your OB checkup, get your blood work taken care of, get your prostate checked (if you have one!)... in other words- it has been and always will be a privilege to care for all of you in any way I can. To accomplish these tests for our bodies, if you ever need a referral please do not hesitate to give our office a call. Dr. Ray will give you the names of doctors or health care providers that can take care of your testing needs. Please do not hesitate to do this.

So be careful for the rest of summer, watch the kids, get that spine worked on, and keep on loving everyone.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

PS- check back later in the month for a back to school health update from the doc for all going back to school in the fall!

YOUR KIDS NEED CHIRO TOO!

Summer time is a great time to introduce your children to chiropractic. They have spines that are abused just like adults. Summer time is often a time when kids are doing multiple activities i.e.: soccer camp, baseball camp, lacrosse camp, outdoor camp, swimming in pools and ocean, water parks, etc etc etc. With school being out it is the opportune time to bring them in and have there spines checked. Dr. Ray never charges for an exam to check your children- meaning just call the office, bring them in, and the Doc will check for Scoliosis, misalignment, and potential problems. Postural check is always a big issue and the Doc is here for that as well.

Please have your children looked at. We all love them and want them to be as healthy as they can be...

PS- To remind you all; STAY HYDRATED DURING THE EXCESSIVE HEAT DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER AND NO FOOLING AROUND UNTIL THE SUN GOES DOWN WINK WINK;)

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

The Summer Begins

Stress is rarely the cause of a condition in the human body, but frequently a contributing factor to many dysfunctions among us. Getting adjusted during stressful times is an incredibly productive thing to do for the human body- by helping our nervous system and the mechanics of our spinal column.

The increased stress I want you all to focus on is: OUR KIDS. Between caring for them at the ocean, watching over them at amusement parks, making sure you lock the fences around your residential pools, and keeping a special eye on them when you go to local water parks. I don't want any of you to have any tragedy- life is tough enough.

So please heed these words- Dr. Ray loves you all and is here for you anytime!!!

Enjoy the summer solstice...

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

TO REITERATE

Hope your spring is going well, although it has been a little brisk in Chester County. So to review, lets talk:
From our everyday activities-bending, lifting, twisting, turning, breathing, belching, fooling around, etc.-our joints take a pounding. Our discs between our vertebrae are absorbing all of these forces; so its time to GET ADJUSTED
We are planting and mulching, mowing and raking, re-planting and pruning. How much can our body take? IT'S TIME TO GET ADJUSTED.
We are picking up our kids, vacuuming, schlepping, being weekend warriors, driving more in nicer weather, siting at our jobs all day; IT'S TIME TO GET ADJUSTED.
So, whether your writhing in pain or a little achy and stiff from all of the above...IT'S TIME TO GET ADJUSTED.

Give us a call, we will see you soon!

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

Thank the Lord Spring is Here

I know we lucked out around here and received minimal snow flakes; and I also realize that it wasn't massively frigid around here this winter. I don't know why I feel like this was the longest, coldest, dreariest winter in my life! So, hooray for spring...

The word for spring is- MODERATION. When you first venture into your home gardens- MODERATION. When your replacing your annuals- MODERATION. If your going to mulch, mulch with- MODERATION.

In other words, be nice to your bones, be nice to your joints, be nice to your disks- they will all serve you well if you don't abuse them. So...MODERATION.

Please come in and get your spine adjusted so you can get some SPRING BACK INTO YOUR SPINE!

Yours in good health,
Dr. Resnick and Staff

SO FAR, SO GOOD...

Hope everybody is doing well and enjoying our non-snow, cold winter.
That reminds me to remind ya'll that if we do (and I really hope we don't) get a decent amount of snowfall with inches, please remember;..
1. Be conscious of proper lifting techniques- bend the legs and knees so it is easier on your lower back
2. Please listen to your body and when you feel fatigue take a rest
3. For the senior citizens out there, try your best to hire someone or get some other party to do the snow removal for you. It really is very heavy work for the body, heart, and spine.
4. If you own a back brace, for protection put the back brace on while shoveling snow- it will increase support.
5. When fixing your clogged snow blower, make sure it is off and you bend with the knees to get residual snow out from the machine.

Just some safety tips from the Doc. Hope that spring is around the corner. Stay safe...

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff

Here's to 2013!!!

I assume most of you survived the holidays. It is amazing how stressful they can be in the midst of the joy of family, friends, and blessings. Lets not deal with resolutions, lets just deal with thinking positive thoughts and doing helpful things to keep our bodies functioning at a high level.
So, always remember and never forget:
1- Eat breakfast everyday
2- Get your blood work done if you have out of date information
3- If you are turning 50 this year, sign up for a Colonoscopy
4- Get your teeth cleaned once a year, better twice
5- Listen to your wife
6- Keep loving your children
7- Get adjusted from time to time
8- Have an apple a day!

Dr. Ray and staff are here for you always. Please never forget that...

Have a wonderful new year and GO PHILLIES!

Yours in good health,

Dr. Ray and Staff
