Our Labours Effect our Bodies...
First of all, I can't possibly believe Labor Day weekend is upon us. Is the summer really over or am I dreaming? I hope the summer was fun and safe for you and all of your families.
Just to remind ya'll that as I've said in the past, our daily activities/things we do repeatedly day after day are the number one causes of our spinal difficulties. It has been that way for 1,000's of years. So just to remind you:
1- If your job is sitting at a desk all day, check your ergonomics- make sure you sit up straight, make sure your work station is properly set up for maximizing posture, don't sit for more then 45 minutes, get up and stretch, etc.
2- If you are a laborer and work in construction/contracting/etc. make sure you wear knee pads when working with equipment, use a step stool for less strain on the back.
3- If you are a business man/woman and travel a lot- stop and stretch when you can, bring a pillow on flights to cause less strain on your neck.
4- If you are a housewife/house husband, remember to use your knees when bending no matter how much something weighs. If you are cleaning your house make sure you break it up to not do one thing for too long of a time.
This is just a friendly reminder to re-iterate to think of these things during our daily work. Our work and the repetition of it is a major factor for spinal issues. Again, have a joyous and safe Labor Day and best of luck with going back to school for everyone.

Blogging's a Blast!!!
Just a short communique to thank ya'll for spending your time and reading the incredible intellectual, informative, and sometimes silly information that we try to convey to you.
We have been blogging for the last few years and the response has been quite gratifying and satisfying. A huge part of being a good doctor is educating, taking the time out to explain things so patients learn about their bodies and pass that on to their family, friends, and co-workers.
Blogging allows us to send out information in a brief yet impactful way and of course I always try to put a smile on our readers faces.
I would also like to take the time to thank my son Alan who is my social media guru and helps with all of our blogging/Facebook/etc. etc. He is doing a great job and he is a heck of a guy.
Always remember and never forget that we are always here for you to help, to answer questions, to direct you where you need to go for your health needs, and to be helpful in any other way.
Make the last few weeks of your Summer (unbelievable to say that!) fun filled and joyful.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff

Grandma is Visiting Again...
So, Grandma (my mother) is visiting us again in glorious Chester County. As I told you in an earlier blog from this year, she turned 90 in April. It takes her roughly a half hour to walk from our kitchen to the TV room. It takes her about 10-15 tries to get up from sitting on the dining room chairs. When she watches TV, you can hear it from across the street (when she leaves all our ears ring for days). I have to repeat myself so often I get bi-lateral TMJ pain that lasts for days.
Please don't take this the wrong way- of course I feel blessed she is here. However, when I observe her it is just amazing to think of all the organs and muscles and bones that have been working so hard lo these many years. An incredible testament to the durability of the human frame.
I implore you all don't take for granted your frame. Do the things you need to do to help it along. I don't want it to take you guys 45 minutes to walk from the kitchen to the TV area to watch TV (although that is not such a horrible thing).
Stretch, exercise, get adjusted, watch your posture, and be healthy. If you do all those things then you can help your body deal with living on earth.
Here is to all the GRANDMA'S out there. God Bless Them All!
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff

Follow Up to our Independence Day Blog...
I felt this was important enough to reiterate this information.
In the June 15th, 2015 Time Magazine, the cover story concerns the powerful pain killers that are being taken and creating a horrible addiction crisis in America- in fact they say the worst addiction crisis America has ever seen.
In this article, it states that an estimated 100 Million Americans suffer from chronic pain and a quarter of them say it is severe enough to limit their quality of life according to the Institutes of Medicine.
In an article that I found online last week from Health Day News dated Monday, July 13th 2015 it urged caution to popular pain killers. This was after a warning from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). The article states that people who regularly reach for widely used pain killers like Ibuprofen and Naproxen may need to think carefully before they pop those pills, hard experts say. The article continues to say that their is mounting evidence that chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can raise a persons risk of heart attack and stroke.
Believe me, I am not saying chiropractic is the answer to all of these 100 million Americans in pain. I am saying that with all of the new evidence of addiction and heart/stroke issues, if you do have chronic pain please call your local chiropractor, get to the office, and lets talk about it. Their are certainly lots of neuro-muscular skeletal pain that getting adjusted can potentially lessen and help.
I implore all of you whether it is you, your family, friends, or co-workers to think about this. It is important and Resnick Chiropractic is here to help.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff

Your Independence- It's Up to You
Last week my daughter had some funky skin issue, she is all better now! I had to go to a few different pharmacies to pick up some topical goop for her. I had to go to 3 different pharmacies. It was unbelievable, but I've seen it before, how overfilled all of the bins were from A-Z with prescribed medication. Don't get me wrong, some of them are lifesaving- but it is time to grab your independence from the pharmaceutical industry and not just except what the medical community tells you often. What they tell you is "You have to live with you aches, pains, headaches, back pain, etc., etc."
Fortunately, so much of our chronic problems can be helped with chiropractic. The makers of Advil certainly don't want to promote chiropractic because their will be less chronic pain. Grab on to your independence from constantly taking pain medication for things that quite possibly and very often can be helped with a combination of posture education, exercising, better ergonomics at work, getting adjusted, yoga, massaging, good nutrition and positive mental attitudes.
As Independence Day approaches, lets all just raise our consciousness about this and let our bodies do the healing with a little help from chiropractic and other conservative approaches that are easily available. IT'S UP TO YOU!
Always remember and never forget- "If you have a fifth on the fourth, you may not be able to go fourth on the fifth"

Rejuvenation and Mother Nature
I walked outside of my house a few days ago and I was looking at our Pachysandra and it stopped me in my tracks. I was remembering how pathetic they looked as this past winter wore on. They really looked like they were dead and just never going to come back. But, their is this incredible force that we don't see and whether it's a universal being or mother nature- the Pachysandra came back and looked great. UNBELIEVABLE.
And yet, their they are. In full bloom and looking grand. This invisible force that I am talking about also keeps our bodies going- non stop heart beating, new cells formed every few months, kidneys and liver working...they just keep on rejuvenating themselves to a degree. The innate wisdom of the body is mind boggling.
As a chiropractor we always are in tune with this wisdom of the body: adjusting the spine and helping the bio-mechanics helps the innate wisdom of the body to function at a higher level. This is something that all of us take for granted but this miracle is a daily phenomenon in all of Gods creatures.
So, take a few minutes today to contemplate the wonders of your human body. Please allow chiropractic to assist in the wonder. It is a blessing to deliver this to you all. Keep on enjoying the summer!

A Schlepping We Will Go...
When Mr. Caveman came back from a day of hunting Brontosauruses, he handed the meat to the Mrs. and then said to her " I need the heating pad, my back is killing me." When Mrs. Claudius finished doing the laundry for the family, she had to sit down for a half hour because her upper back was throbbing with pain. When Johnny comes home from school today and takes off his school bag/backpack that weighs 85 pounds, he needs to lie down for a few minutes because his mid-shoulder blade region is talking to him.
As you can see through the 1,000s of years that we have roamed the earth, fortunately the major percentage of human spinal suffering is caused by the day to day normal activities we do and the schlepping that we have in our lives all the time.
This recurring schlepping causes muscle, mechanical, and functional inflammation as well as irritation, etc. etc. etc.
So run, don't walk, to your chiropractor and allow him or her to rid your body from the "schlepping syndrome." With a little bit of effort, a little bit of repetition, and a little bit of education chiropractic can be a life changer.
HAPPY JUNE!
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff
