The NCAA Tournament and Our Lives
As many of you know, we are in the midst and the tail end of the college basketball championship tournament. When the tournament begins, their is 68 teams that make the tournament and then using different parameters the teams are seeded- for example the #1 seed plays the #16 season, the #1 seed team being a very good team and the #16 seeded team being usually not as good. Usually the #1 seeds win and move on through the tournament, sorry Virginia...
The premise of the whole tournament is driven by a hierarchy of seeding. As I was watching the games this year, I was thinking that many of us without really contemplating it have a hierarchy of physical and mental health issues that we need to deal with. Unfortunately many of us push down what we need for mental health and physical health to accommodate the other important parts of our life that we need to deal with. Therefore- we end up being less healthy in both a mental and physical way.
I can't tell you how many times patients come into the office who haven't been in for longer then they should and they say "I just got so busy with work, family, etc. that I put my health on the lower level of importance.."
I implore everyone to please keep this in mind. Appropo to the NCAA tournament we have to seed our priorities in life. If we don't work on what we really need to do for our mental and physical health, it will be easy to slip into poor choices and bad health. Please, if that is happening to you or your loved ones, address it and change this. We are here to help you with that, it is very important.
Give us a call if you need anything and GO NOVA!!!

Ya Just Never Know...

So as I was snowed in today (because I had to cancel patients), I was thinking that our health is the same kind of dubiousness. We can be minding our own business and trying to be nice while feeling healthy and then the next day we are diagnosed with some life threatening disease or some painful condition, when two days ago we were feeling fine.
This is the precariousness of our existence. So therefore lets all please try to be as healthy as we can and have our preventative tests done and be mindful of our blessings.
Stay warm!

The Championship Eagles
Watching the game this past Sunday was super fantastic. To see the joy that the fans showed when the game was over was just outstanding. It is amazing the depth of emotion that gets affected by fans who have been long standing Eagle worshipers, Generation after generation of Eagles fans that were starved for a championship.
To witness it was a joyous experience. It reminded me how connected our mental health is to our physical function. There is an absolute connection between the mind and the body and often Doctors forget to include that in their healthcare of patients. I can almost guarantee you that their are going to be thousands of Philadelphians who are going to recognize that they feel better physically since the birds won the title. They won't connect the two or perhaps some will but the connection is absolute and has been part of humanity for thousands of years.
So, I submit to all of you to continue to work on your mental health as it will directly affect in a positive way your physical health.
Enjoy the post game elation. No one can ever take this away from us as we enjoy basking in the sunlight of a championship. Be careful and enjoy celebrating.

Looking back on 2017...
Of course when I look back on 2017 like all the years in the past I feel blessed to have been able to deliver loving chiropractic to Chester County. It has been a real pleasure and privilege, and by the way I still enjoy it! It is always great to meet a person and in a very reasonable amount of time have a chance to change the qualify of their life through chiropractic and tender loving care.
Thanks to all of you who voted for Resnick Chiropractic this year either in the Daily Local Readers Choice awards (Were we won!) or in the Philly A-List competition (placed 5 out of 37 docs) for "Best Chiropractor." Again, the support and confidence in us and loving words is greatly appreciated.
We hope the holidays continue to bring all of you joy and fun. A happy and healthy New Year to all of you and your families. Always remember and never forget your continued responsibility to spread the word of chiropractic out there as we continue to appreciate your generous words about Resnick Chiropractic.
Yours in good health,

NO MORE LAST RESORT
Last week I had a 30-ish year old female patient come into the office complaining of long term headache issues that have not responded to any form of treatment that she has gone in for. She has also had brain scans which were all negative (normal). Her exact words when I first met her were "I am here as a last resort."
In all my years of practicing and all the patients I have seen with headache issues, only one had a brain pathology that caused that patient problems. That is a rare case in total. By far, the most common cause of recurring headaches is the connection between the neuro-muscular skeletal issues, the base of the skull, the top 2-3 vertebrae and there movement and the combination of all of those working together.
I urge you to use chiropractic as a first line of help and not wait to exhaust other options that do not help as often. I am not saying that chiropractic helps everything; I am saying chiropractic helps most things when it comes to muscular-skeletal issues with some level of nerve involvement.
Please call the office with questions, anytime.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff
