I felt this was important enough to reiterate this information.
In the June 15th, 2015 Time Magazine, the cover story concerns the powerful pain killers that are being taken and creating a horrible addiction crisis in America- in fact they say the worst addiction crisis America has ever seen.
In this article, it states that an estimated 100 Million Americans suffer from chronic pain and a quarter of them say it is severe enough to limit their quality of life according to the Institutes of Medicine.
In an article that I found online last week from Health Day News dated Monday, July 13th 2015 it urged caution to popular pain killers. This was after a warning from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). The article states that people who regularly reach for widely used pain killers like Ibuprofen and Naproxen may need to think carefully before they pop those pills, hard experts say. The article continues to say that their is mounting evidence that chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can raise a persons risk of heart attack and stroke.
Believe me, I am not saying chiropractic is the answer to all of these 100 million Americans in pain. I am saying that with all of the new evidence of addiction and heart/stroke issues, if you do have chronic pain please call your local chiropractor, get to the office, and lets talk about it. Their are certainly lots of neuro-muscular skeletal pain that getting adjusted can potentially lessen and help.
I implore all of you whether it is you, your family, friends, or co-workers to think about this. It is important and Resnick Chiropractic is here to help.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Ray and Staff
